Commercial Description:
Point Cascade Pale Ale is handcrafted combining special top-fermenting yeast and a dry hopping process to create this truly classic American Pale Ale. The intriguing character is derived from generous quantities of the choicest Yakima Valley Cascade hops and the finest crystal, 2 row pale, and Munich malts. The result is a delicious American Pale Ale with a signature fragrant hop bouquet and soft malt palate.

Wow! What a very good value. $5 for a six-pack. Right now, all Stevens Point Brewery products are on sale at my local Hy-Vee, so I’ve sampled a few. The Cascade Pale Ale is by far the best. It’s in a league with much more expensive beers. It pours a dark amber, organish/coppery color, and has a head that lasts a decent amount of time. It also has plenty of flavor, and good thick mouthfeel. If it were always $5, it would be my regular beer of choice. Unfortunately, I seem to have bought them out of Cascade Pale Ale. I wonder if they will order more? Perhaps I should ask.

In the bottle from HyVee CB. Pours a dark gold with a medium to thick sustainable head in my pilsner glass. Mild toasted malt aroma. Medium soda cracker-like flavor that cannot mask too much watery metals. This is only a medium-class pale ale. Hop content not very artistic.

Bottle: Pours a clear orange tinged copper color with a small white head, that does leave some nice lacing. Aroma, citrus hops, pale malts. Flavor, doughy and nutty malt notes, with a light citrus/orange hop flavor very little bitterness on the finish. The body is on the lighter side.

12 oz bottle poured a light orange. Thin white head. Hoppy aroma. Taste is mildly hoppy and somewhat grassy. Not exactly what I was expecting, but overall not to bad.

12 ounce bottle in a variety pack. Light colored with a very small head. Was a fairly run of the mill pale ale. Could have had more hopsy flavor.

12 ounce bottle. Shaker glass. Golden with a small head. Hops and a hint of malt on the aroma. Taste was slightly hoppy with some bitteness. I’ve had better.

Medium citrus with notes of rust aroma. Golden copper, with nice lasting head. Fruity, balanced, and mild hop flavour. Smooth with a dry finish.

12oz no date from hopdog, thanks Stephen! Pours a clear slightly dark orange with a 1/2 finger whtie head, low retention. Aroma is sweaty with some mild grapefruit and floral hops, a bit of caramel malts. Flavor is a litle more tart and acidic than what I remember this thing being. There is still some citrus and floral hops, light caramel malts and a wee bit of wet paper. Overall bitterness is pretty low. Thin body with moderate carbonation. About as good as I remember--slightly better than average.
