sleestak (180), Williamston, Michigan, USA Oct 7, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours clear and brownish-copper with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, bready malt and earthy hops with a weird solvent-y background. Taste is actually quite nice - sweet, but not cloying, grain, toasted nuts and an understated spiciness. Body is way too thin, which detracts significantly. Eh. wmubronco1992 (176), Coldwater, Michigan, USA Sep 17, 2009 Bottle. Copper color. Small white head. Very little lacing. Aroma of carmal and malt. Unpleasant flavor. Each of the Point beers I’ve tried have had a weak/thin palate, but his is my least favorate of the group. It is average at best. milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Jul 2, 2009 Malty aroma, with some hints of caramel and nut. Flavor is pretty flat, with a mainly malty presence that is a bit indistinguishable. Overall nothing to get excited about. 6ROW (243), corpus christi, Texas, USA Jun 22, 2009 copper pour with a small off white head. warming aroma with a taste of sweet malts (bread). jbye4334 (652), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jun 17, 2009 (bottle). ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA May 24, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, golden body with a petite, white head.
Smell: Sugar-soaked toasted grains with golden raisins for a bit of pleasant fruitiness, meager spicy hop hints, and even some peppery alcohol.
Taste: Toasted grains and bready malts alongside a middling amount of caramel sweetness. Some surprisingly early alcohol hints. Hints of dried fruit come and go at whim. Mildly spicy hop character and bitterness. Finishes dry with some lingering toasted qualities parallel to some lingering alcohol heat.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Acceptable and decent, it’s not the first bock I’d reach for, but it’s not one I’d swat away like an awry tennis ball either. noncaloric (601), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 21, 2009 Pours an amber orange, almost glowing, with a large off-white head. Good head retention and lace. Modest caramel aroma. Malt flavor carries a cider fruitiness, with light caramel backing that up. Husky, bread crust backbone, slightly oxidized here with a bit of a metallic tang. Medium body.
