| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 29, 2008 Pours a transparent bright copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet toasty, grainy German malts and some caramel toffee with a touch of lager yeast character. Body starts with good fullness and sweet malty notes balanced with a crisp noble hoppiness and some mild oxidation before a smooth, bittersweet finish. A pretty true to style and drinkable heller bock. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Sized up next to other maibocks- i’d say this was on the lighter side, that’s why my rating might be a little lower. Aroma is nice, almonds, goats, and toffee. Mouthfeel is very full and creamy flavors are semi sweet and malty. I have family who lives in Stevens Point and Point beer is even cheaper there then here in Chicago. I don’t buy a Point brew and expect a killer top of the line beer. I expect a solid beer for the price. In my opinion Point makes some of the best beer for the price. The prices are similiar to MGD and Bud, but is sooo much better. They give you variety on a budget. Bars in Stevens point will sell bottles of Point beer for $1 on specials, and to me that is a GREAT deal. Point continues to crank out some of the best budget beer in the country. They always put out a GOOD beer at a great price. I paid $5 for a six pack of this beer and it was exactly what I expected. GOOD taste for the price. Not a beer I would buy all the time but it is a beer I would buy to change things up every so often. Being a college student who likes a beer that isn’t dirt cheap and crappy, Point offers me a solid beer at a solid price. Keep up the good work Point. EithCubes (2171), Indiana, USA

Amber-copper body, clear with a creamy, dense beige head. Taste is sticky caramel with a a bit of chocolate and grain, some sticky soured grape and stale carbonation. Light bitterness, mineral, spice. Medium body and some metallic after effects that really buzz my teeth. Dark, dark finish. Think I’ll pass. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
