Has the aroma of saltine crackers. This is very tasty for a Point beer, but lousy for a helles bock. It does have some interesting toffee flavors. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of joeybgood. Pours a crystal clear copper color with a disappearing small beige head. The aroma is mildly sweet caramel, toasted grainy malts, and light corn. The flavor is moderately sweet malts, corn, roasted grains, and some grassy hops. Light to medium bodied. This is definetly drinkable, but unspectacular. Strykzone (1497), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 5, 2008 Motor oil color with only a small ring of foam and light carbonation. Grass and malt aroma. Flavor of fruit and barley with a bit of both hop and spice. Throw in some toffee as well. Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 4, 2008 Pours a bright golden orange body with a sustained off-white head. Light aroma of sweet grainy malt, lightly toasted, and, alas, a splash of mineral water. The latter disappears from the flavor and is replaced by a moderate floral/grassy bitterness that keeps the sweet malts in check. Actually, a fairly decent drink if, perhaps, a bit lightweight for a bock.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Pours a dark golden with a thick off-white head that diminishes somewhat yet remains and rings the glass. Not much of an aroma; some hop spiciness and malt sweetness. Taste is crisp and clean with a semi-smokey malty sweetness. Slight hop spice and earthiness in the back. Pretty decent brew and a reasonable example of the style. Juelze (919), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Pours a copper color with light off-white head. Aroma is light spicy hops, caranel malt and light fruit nose. Taste is rich caramel malt up front with mild fruitness that becomes more evident in the swallow. Moderate carbonation. Easy drinking. Good stuff. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA

12 oz. twist-off bottle, no freshness date, sampled in a pilsener glass.
L: Clean amber hued copper color with a frothy pale beige head that slowly sank into a thin sudsy layer, light amount of splotchy lace follows the body down the glass as I consumed it.
S: A mellow nose of caramel, toasted grains and leafy, herbal hops. The aroma is simple, mildly pleasant and just about in the average range for a Wisconsin brewed Maibock.
F&T: Active carbonation gives the light body a good firmness and airy heft, more crisp than creamy. Malty flavors of toasted caramel and grains with hints of toffee and light coffee. A very subtle raisin-like fruitiness in the middle, finishing with a soft, spicy hop bitterness. In the aftertaste is briefly lingering tastes of caramelized sugar and leafy, spicy hops.
Smooth and easy drinkability, that is nothing bold or exceptional about this Maibock, and in the long run, there is also nothing rememberable about Einbock other than its budget price. In the world of Wisconsin Maibock’s, I would put this towards the back of the pack.
