Commercial Description:
Point Nude Beach is the perfect summer pleasure. Available only during the warm months of summer, this lively and unfiltered wheat ale is well balanced using "au naturel" raw and red wheat, then delicately finished with Yakima hops. With a refreshing light flavor, Point Nude Beach is perfect while enjoying summer activities or just hanging out with friends. Clothing optional.

Nude Beach is described as being a wheat bear made with raw red wheat and yakima hops. It delivered on that description, with a strong wheat flavor and a moderate to high amount of body. There is a citrus note, but it is mild compared to many other wheat beers. The flavor added by the hops was interesting, but there was basically no hop bitterness nor hop aroma. This isn’t a negative for the style, just a statement. It poured a beautiful golden color with a moderate white head and aroma was very subtle. A tiny bit more hop bitterness would be nice to help balance it, but this is a great summer beer.

I didn’t have high hopes for this after reading some of the other ratings, but I’m here to tell ya that I was very impressed with this brew. From a bottle, it poured a hazy yellow-orange with sizable white head. Decent lacing. Fairly subtle aroma of wheat bread and maybe a touch of mown grass. Wheaty initial taste--and wheaty all the way through. Minor hopping in the fiinish. Probably the smoothest wheat beer I’ve ever had; more body than I was expecting too. Less sharp than Capital’s Island Wheat, with more moderate carbonation as well. Very nice, and a bargain to boot.

Nice clean crisp taste. Not much in the way of wheat though. A little grassiness, but leaned more towards a slightly amped up lager. Not sure how this differs from a hefe, as some of the bananna/clove aspects where there, same as a hefe would be. Tasty summer bump for sure.

Pours hazy medium yellow with a very small white head. Nose is mostly wheat grain with very faint floral hops. Flavor is wheat, mild yeast, and a very faint lemon flavor. Slight, tasty grainy aftertaste. Palate is milky or oily. I think it’s pretty good.

Found this one bottled at the Binny’s in St. Charles, Illinois. Cloudy, medium yellow pour with a very thick white head, nice orange and lime nose, sweet and cerealy taste with some citrus. Fruity, almost artificial finish. Not bad, tastes somewhere in between the Leinie’s Summer Wheat and Blue Moon.
