Commercial Description:
Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager Beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Hand-crafted using Hallertauer hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts for a rich amber hue. The result is a full flavored, well balanced beer, brewed in celebration of the upcoming season.

Very true to the style very similar to the German counterparts. Medium amber clear color. Small white quickly dissipating head. Carmel malt aroma. Thin texture and light body.

A nice looking pour. A clear amber color with a nice two-finger tall off-white head. No real lacing. Boring malty aroma with some acidic notes and maybe some light spice and hops thrown in. The flavor wasn’t good. Malty and acidic with no spice or hops pushing through. Thin mouthfeel.

Has a detectable flavor of spices, yeast and roasted malts with a slightly dry hoppy finish. A little thin, but pulls off the Marzen style reasonably well. Not technically one of the better examples of the style, but worth a try if one wants a sessionable autumn beer.

From a distance, it looks like a Marzen/Oktoberfest. But when you get up close, its just brown water with a tad bit of hop and malt.

On Tap at the Great Lakes Brewfest. First off at the beer fest 2008, poured by the brew master himself. Amber with a medium white head. Aroma of grain, sweet malt and the smell of Munich. Taste of sweet malt, apple, malt and spice. Finishes dry and it’s a bit thin but overall not a bad effort from Point brewery.

Single from Three Cellars. Sweet and a bit weak light malts. Not bad though.

Marzen style, light golden brown color with a thin, light tan head. Slight hop aroma with a hint of caramel. Rich, roasted malt taste with a little hoppy bite. A well balanced and tasty Oktoberfest beer.
