I was excited to try this one because it had the potential to be the posterchild of Wisconsin lagers, but my expectations didn’t pan out. While it’s better than some of the other local "cheap" beer options, there’s still a wide gap between what I can tolerate and what I like. This beer is light, crisp and clean, almost like a Miller Lite with a little more attention to detail and use of more quality ingredients. Don’t know what I’m going to do with the remaining beers, but I need to get rid of them so I can redeem my fridge with a better beer. sbrewno (49), Frankfort, Illinois, USA

Good if you’ve just come back from fishing in the North Woods, but nothing to write home about... Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 2, 2004 Not a bad lager, but I’ve just used an old bottle from the fridge to wash down a particularly bad experience with an English ale, so that might be influencing my rating. Actually it’s at least a step above the macros. It’s got a clear golden color with a thin white head and decent carbonation. The aroma is of mild malts and grass. The taste? There’s corn in here, maybe some rice, too. Fairly clean and crisp. Glad it was my last bottle, though. lowdog (2), USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2004 There seems to be a lot of negative comments about this beer, but to be faithful to yourself, you should try it. Personally, I like it a lot, and any beer that wins a GOLD MEDAL at The Great American Beer Festival, can’t be all that bad, eh? Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA

I think I’m going to have to start cookie-cutting some of these rates... Gold color with no head. Decent malt presense in nose and taste. Better than the regular swill, but nothing spectacular.
