Poured from the bottle a light golden yellow color. Big head, decent carbonation. Looked pretty standard. Taste is smooth, crisp and clean with a slight buttery finish. Nothing overwhelming here, and I like that. A good lawnmower beer if ever there was one. Gotta love the retro label on the bottle too.

On tap at Murphy’s on the U of Illinois campus. I wish they would have listed this as a lager on the chalk board list of beers, because then I wouldn’t bought this and had to drink it. Clear light yellow pour. Corny, grainy aroma. Thin flavor all around. Slightly fruity/citrusy, but for the most part this was a pale lager in every sense of the phrase: corny, watery, unexciting.

Pale golden color with a small amount of white head. Malty, grainy aroma. Fruity flavor with hints of peach and apricot. Lots of malty flavor. A bit watery. I thought this was pretty good stuff, but it seems under rated here. Then again, I like Rolling Rock...

Bottle. Poured a pale golden body with thin head. Aroma is stale bread, light hops. Flavor is bitter, light fruits and bready malt. After taste was a little underwhelming.

I give it a 4. I have to say more so I’ll say that when I was in school in Wausau we drank this a lot. I believe we also kicked Point’s butt in baseball. They had a brewery though, so we called it a draw.

(12oz bottle) Small white head atop crystal clear straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, corn, some honey, light bread, spicy. Taste is medium sweet, corn, light bread, spicy, metallic. Watery light body, fairly drinkable.

I’ve had this brew numerous times, to say the least. Light years ahead of its mass produced counterparts. But not really special in any way. If you can find it on tap you should definately try it.
