Bottle... Clear yellow lager with a small, creamy, off-white head. As it warms, the aroma displays grainy and medicinal characteristics... and not much more. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Toffee and honey sweetness up front; a nice European hop bite on the backside. The lengthy finish starts off sweet, but ends up a touch bitter and fairly dry. Thanks to otakuden for providing the bottle!

Deep golden color with a taller heavy cream colored head. Very clean aroma, nearly too clean. I don’t catch any alcohol of other baddies, but I’m not retrieving any "great" pilsner scents. I’ll call it a premium lager aroma, with a hint of floral hops and some pale malts. Heavier feel, not as chewy and smooth as the Wholehog IPA, but appropriate for the style. I’d almost say too thick, but I think I may be picking nits. Pale and lightly toasted malts in the front. Middle gains some floral and lightly bitter herb hops. Finish and linger are actually quite crisp and dry. Linger has a touch of buttered toast and a little bite of earthy hops and iron. For a style that I have always said was basically a malt liquor, this one does it very well.

This is dark gold colored with a lightly yellowish khaki head. Lots of fast moving bubbles indicate a highly carbonated brew. Sweet malty nose with lots of raw citrus. There is also some bit of hay in the background. This drinks fairly easy for the abv, at first anyway. Then, as you take your first swallow the alcohol hits you in the face. There is some old bread crust and a little bit of pine bark. There is also some bit of grapefruit rind to go with the woody character. Decent and better than most so called Imperial Pilsners I have tried, but you gotta get past the alcohol.

Picked up a four pack from Discount Liquors in Waukesha, Wisconsin. From a 12-oz bottle pours a clear golden amber colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring and some bubble rings on the top. Aroma of golden grain malt, some floral hops, a touch of bubble gum, and powdered sugar. Taste is medium to full bodied, some carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt, some bubble gum, grassy and floral hops and some alcohol. Finish has an alcohol bite and some sharp bitterness, then a semi-sweet aftertaste flavor. Could use a little less alcohol to smooth out the flavor.

Bottled. Poured slightly cloudy, milky golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up more honey than bready malts, with a deeper level of floral notes and rubbing alcohol.. wet grains on the back.. not in the least bit enticing. The flavor had honey and the aforementioned grains at the core, with prickly citrus and floral notes around.. concentrated lemon juice and boozy heat over tacky malts on the finish. Heavier-bodied with lower-than-expected carbonation.. too hot with too few interesting ingredients.

In the bottle from Beertopia. Pours a rich gold with a large and thick creamy white head. This has a rich flavor of a pilsner that is slightly stronger than it should be, but somehow does not quite live up to the imperial mantra.
