| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 25, 2004 Small head and a slighly skunky aroma. Nutty flavor, clean, mildly hoppy aftertaste. A very forgettable beer. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 18, 2003 16oz. plastic bottle. Odd, familiar yet hard-to-place aroma. Like cooked flowers, or boiled fruit...berry?? Perhaps a blend of hops, sweetness and...something? As the name implies, is indeed a bright yellow golden color, with a particularly foamy and lasting white colored head. Very effervescent. Some lightly grainy, sweet maltiness up front, with a slightly vegetal and spicy finish. Low bitterness. Light bodied, and with a fizzy palate. Not overly impressive, but isn't meant to be, no doubt. I've discovered that the soy makes up 6% of the total grain bill. At the time of this review it's the only soy beer I know of. sethdude (604), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

I bought this because it is the only beer in town I have not tried, and feared the worst. Yes, it is gold in color, thin head, smells like an extremely weak IPA, has a good grassy flavor followed by some ok mild malt. Not bad compared to what I thought it would be. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Sep 8, 2003 Deep golden color with a small dense cream colored head. Old straw aroma with a hint of hops and light fruit. Some body but no real flavors. Has a weak tea flavor quality. This must be made for the hot Kansas City summers. A whole lot of nothing. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 7, 2003 If this is really a blond ale, then they've done an amazing job at imitating a lager. I'd peg this as a lager in a blind taste test. Nevertheless, its nothing but a fairly clean, fairly light and bland beer. Slight hint of a cascade-like hop aroma, with a hop tingle in the flavor. Well balanced. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 5, 2003 Slightly metallic but a pleasant, flavorful and moderately malty lager from Great Plains. Not to be confused with the massively crappy Great Grains Brewery of Dallas, which is responsible for some of the lamest US microbrews on the planet.
