Commercial Description:
Kansas City's great amber ale is sweeping through the Midwest again. Munich and European crystal hops and grains grown here in the heartland give Tornado Red Ale aggressive hoppiness followed by a rich, smooth malt flavor. It's the flavor that won the Silver Medal at the Great American Beer Festival, and only Pony Express has it.

Bright orange with, I guess, some hint of red. Lightly malty, roasty flavor with some hints of nuts (almonds), although not really in a good way. Fairly empty sugar sweet flavor with little malt character, just a bit more of the nuttiness. Light hint of citrus, finish is fairly fatty with only a hint of bitterness.

Meh. Palateable but slightly below average. Picked up at Brennan’s on University Avenue (Madison, WI). There’s nothing unique about this ale.

Bottle. Clear red-brown body with very little carbonation or head. Dry crystal malt and butter in the aroma Boring flavor: dry brown/caramel malt. Nothing distinguished in the hop department.

Bottle poured a hazy orange with a small fizzy head and big carbonation. Very sweet malty aroma. Flavor is sweet malt and hops with a light hops and citrus finish. Cool bottle cap!

Thanks Degarth. Found this in the back of the fridge. Poured a clear, well, red. White fizzy head. Nose was sweet-sour of malt. This was an easy drink, nothing spectacular, but good.

Compliments of Degarth

Had a malty nose with some harvest wheat aroma also. Light colored amber body with white head. Flavor was a light sweet malt varity. Smooth easy drinkable beer.

I got this beer through my beer club. I am not familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a bright reddish bronze color with a small tan head that fades quickly. The aroma is sweet malts with a hint of nut and a light spicy hop element. The flavor is sour malts with a moderately strong floral hop character. The finish is light and hoppy.

12 oz bottle via trade with heemer77 - Thanks Eric! - Pours amber with a short offwhite head that laces some. Aroma of caramel malts and floral hops. Interesting malt profile. Very octoberfest-like on the flavor. Some bitter hops finish it off but nothing overwhelming. Palate is medium bodied with a fair amount of carbonation. Very drinkable but also very ho-hum. Not bad though.
