Commercial Description:
Kansas City's great amber ale is sweeping through the Midwest again. Munich and European crystal hops and grains grown here in the heartland give Tornado Red Ale aggressive hoppiness followed by a rich, smooth malt flavor. It's the flavor that won the Silver Medal at the Great American Beer Festival, and only Pony Express has it.

Really like this beer! Be a great session brew. Poured with a nice foamy textured head that lasts along with some lace. Nice clear amber color. Nose was caramel malt sweet at first then you pick up some nice hop in there. Flavor was that and bigger. Very satisfying. Nice mouthfeel. Good finish. Got it in a beer o the month package the other day.

Pretty tasty stuff. I’d buy it again. The combination of flavors was pleasant, at least to my palate.

I got this beer through my beer club. I am not familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a bright reddish bronze color with a small tan head that fades quickly. The aroma is sweet malts with a hint of nut and a light spicy hop element. The flavor is sour malts with a moderately strong floral hop character. The finish is light and hoppy.

poured a rich copper color with a frothy white head. Aroma was sweet of caramel and some floral hops. Rich malty flavor balanced out by a pleasent malt finish. very smooth.

Stopped by Pony Express to pick up some of their goodies and they were kind enough to let me sample their Tornado Amber. I have to tell you I really liked it. Full bodied, sweet, citrusy flavor. Smooth drinkable Amber. There are better but this was very tasty.

Pours a three finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Clear amber color. Light carbonation and light bodied. Slight malty nose. Starts almost sweet with hint of hops, some bitterness at finish. $1.39 for a 12oz bottle from John’s Grocery Iowa City, IA.
