Commercial Description:
Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

This is a fine ale indeed! It pours a lovely cloudy golden color (I have a soft spot for cloudy beer) and it has a really nice, large off-white head. The flavor is sweet, but with a lot of hops. It has a very good body to it. I will enjoy having this one again

Bottle (33 cl) at the Rover, Göteborg, Sweden. Hazy amber with small yeast particles and small off-white head. Honeýish and fruity aroma with yeast notes and spicy, earthy hops. Smooth mouthfeel. Good balance with a dry finish.

Hazed brown with a big ass head. Herbal to minty lightly sweet hops. Perhaps slightly skunked? Light carbonated body with small bubbles. Lighter and drier than I thought from the nose. A bit spicy even! A bit skunked? Some alcohol lingering. Saaz/hallertaur sort of hops maybe? Very peppery.

Bottle, bought @ Vinspecialisten, Kolding Storcenter.
Pours a hazy yellow with a splash of orange. The head is white and frothy with rather big bubbles - all sticking nicely to my glass. Aroma is hoppy, grassy and has some caramel and light yeasiness. Nice mouthfeel with little bubbles dancing nicely on my tongue. Flavour is well bitter, some caramel and biscuit sweetness behind it. Very dry finish with a light yeast presence. The hops are grassy and floral and really nice.

330ml Bottle: Aroma is sweet and a little spicy. Smells of grassy hops, caramel malts, and a bit of spices. Poured golden/amber/orange in color with a large off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Excellent lacing. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of large particles. Medium sweet flavor. Tastes of caramel malts, Belgian yeast, and some fruit and floral hops. Medium body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, yeasty finish. Not as hoppy as anticipated.

Bottle from bottle trek. Tulip glass. A nice crisp beer. Refreshing but slightly lacking for me. I didn’t get much aroma from it, but the flavor was crisp and refreshing.

Substantial and swirling in the glass. Earthy, rustic aromas of grains, hay, sweet grass and fresh hops. Tastes equally authentic and artisanal. A very drinkable, enjoyable strong ale that balances its alcohol with the naturalness of the ingredients to eliminate any astringency or alcoholic bite. Well made.

Nose of herbs, spices and malt. Pours a hazy orange coloured beer. Taste is full with a spiciness. Some minierality too giving a very dry character. Not bad at all.
