Commercial Description:
Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

Bottled. Hazy golden colour with mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity hoppy along with caramel and slight spicyenss. Flavour is fruits, malts, slight honey and caramel and a weak metallic note also. A quite pleasant beer, which is very smooth to drink.

Bottle; Aroma was a sour yeast and some bread notes. Golden body with big white foam head with quality lacing. Flavor has a sour fruit flavor along with a mild peppery presence. Leaves a medium sour friut aftertaste on palate. Good Brew.

25cl bottle. Very hazy gold with a big, frothy white head. Nose seems very wit-like, with coriander and fruit in the fore. Tastes like a flat-assed Hoegaarden. Bad bottle? I don’t know, and I’m leery to find out.
