Has initial skunky flavor (out of the corked version). Nice palate with high gassiness. Smooth spicy fruitiness (maybe citrus) with a yeasty and honey-like background. There’s a late dryness on the palate. Odeed (1680), Bakersfield, California, USA

Opaque, golden ale with a trillion, tiny black floaties suspended throughout the brew. Mid-sized, fizzy, white head. Decent retention. Fruity, hoppy, breadsy aroma. There’s good balance in the complex flavor. Malty, tangy, yeasty, fruity and lightly bitter. Just a trace of spice... probably from the Belgian yeast. Medium to full-bodied with a slick mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Fruity, lightly bitter finish. IPAndy (120), minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2006 Good head/carbonation/lacing. Tastes like a hoppy hefeweizen. Pretty refeshing really. Reminds me of Kellerbiers I had in Austria. Bart (1670), Brussels, Belgium

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2006 Updated: Mar 7, 2007Re-rate, 3/07: Poured an amber golden color with a nice but not thick initial head that left great lacing, a nice presentation in my own personal hommel bier glass. Pepper, citrus, light funk, and grass all play a roll here, as well as the malty base. A nicely balanced and refereshing beer, glad to have returned to it. The yeastiness wasn’t very noticable in contrast to my original notes. Original Review: Somewhat of a grassy heffeweizen taste with some light Belgian sourness. Hop presence was detectable in the malty / yeasty aroma and came through in the flavor more than in many of the tripels out there. Kinda tasted like the way Belgians would brew a crisp American Pilsner with a peppery finish.
