Commercial Description:
Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

My god this is a great beer. Poured into a Rochefort glass it looks excellent. Nose reminds me of another belgiun beer i really like but cant remember the name of, grassy yeasty, bready, increadibly balanced, almost like la chouffe, but better. Taste is similar with such a great balance and excellent carbonation. A suprize and a good one a verry very goood one!

Poured from bottle to a hazy yellow-orange with thick white head that lingered with good lacing throughout the glass. Aroma was a mix of floral and clover, with hints of fruit, maybe oranges. Taste somewhat spicy at first, and the 7.5% alcohol was well hidden. As beer warmed at mid-glass, taste became more honey sweet. Had a good finish. Surprisingly good, smooth, tasty beer.

Bottle. Hazy blond body topped with a lasting white foamy head. Pleasant and well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with honeyish and flowery notes. Sharp hoppy taste that carries herbal and coriander hints. Ends with a pretty decent bitter finish. Enjoyable.

11.2 oz bottle into a Tulip glass. Pours a beautiful cloudy orangish light brown hue with speckles. Aroma consists of a very sweet and floral Belgian yeast scent with a mixture of honey as well. The head pours thickl and white. First taste brings a Belgian yeasty and malt flavor, with a hint of fruit and bitterness which moves right into a medium hop bite near the end of the palate. The whole experience is very smooth though. A very evened out and refreshing well made brew!

Clear and clean pour. A summer version of a belgian strong ale. I bit hoppy and crisp. Not overpowering.

Draft, thanks BuckNaked for the sample. Cloudy, light amber body with white head, nice lacing. The aroma is grassy and floral. The flavor is lemon, grass, semisweet with a slightly soapy finish. The mouthfeel is soft.

Bottled. Very lively, rich golden pour, huge frothy soapy head. Big hoppy aroma with some bread, honey, and flowers. And fruit. Mmm, taste those hops! Taste of malt, bitterness. Dry finish. Yeast and a little grass, hops are definitely noticeable but don’t overpower. A little sweetness, a little spice. Nice, balanced, pleasant.
