Really hoppy aroma, with some additional banana, dust, and light fruit. Flavor is interesting- with lots of banana and other malts like many Belgian ales, but with a nice hoppy finish. It’s quite interesting to have a traditional Belgian-flavored beer with a nice hoppy finish. Not stong by any means... Hmmm... hatchy (32), USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 25, 2006 Slightly cloudy, light amber pour with a tall, white soapy head. Banana aromas with some herbal hop notes. Medium bodied, hoppy and yeasty flavor with an interesting herbal finish, almost like a blend of thyme, rosemary, and oregano. I also taste some freshly picked cedar cones and some fennel seed. Texture is dry and slightly bitter. This is a very intesting beer to taste, but the overall flavor/aroma balance doesn’t suit my preference very well. GarethYoung (1110), Glasgow, Scotland

This is excellent. nicholai (101), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 14, 2006 On tap @ Kaisla. A clear-gold pour with some serious cloud like head. Barnyard, hoppy, and fresh citrus smell. The taste is iron, very hoppy with some fresh cut grass notes, no alcohol, just fresh. Great warm and cold weather beer alike. Made with the same hop variety that goes into Westvletern’s brews. Saarlander (1583), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2006 A nice orange hue with this one, incredibly easy drinking, didn’t know it was as strong as it is until now! A supurb beer for me, one of my favorites. Citrus, flowers, abit of malt, abit of hops=nice! highlandlad (1275), Sydney, Australia

Looks superb: cloudy orange with a tall head that lasted and lasted and lasted. The aroma is light and floral/perfumy, like a light English summer ale. Pink grapefruit notes. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavourwise, it’s tart and citric, with grapefruit to the fore. Refreshing and tangy - great summer drinking. (Bottle, RateBeer Sydney Xmas gathering 2005)
