Commercial Description:
Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

Bottle split with curly at his house. This pours a clearish gold with lasting soapy white head. Brady lightly hopped nose does not prepare you for the soured belgian candi sugar and yeast in the flavor. Metallic. Really didn’t care for this one too much. Kinda like a really bad version of the corsendonk pale.

Draft at Man in the Moon - Hazy orange colored beer with small head. Aroma is malty with notes of fruits and unusual hops. Flavor is slightly acidic sweet with notes of caramel and hops. Nice and unusual.

Pours cloudy gold with huge white head. Fruity and floral hoppy aroma. Taste very similar with some more citrusy fruits coming through. Enjoyable

Light coriander, with some bread, orange and floral hops. Appearance is cloudy (this beer was served too cold!) with a creamy head; nice lacing as well. Flavor included some unexpected tart apple. Brown sugar, apricots and coriander were also present. Palate was bubbly. Not bad, but mediocre for the style.

Cloudy, golden/amber appearance with a large, off white head and good lacing. Aroma is sweet and yeasty at first, but soon gives way to floral hops. Taste is not as sweet as the nose might indicate. Some spicyness, some soft fruitiness, along with a more herbal hop flavor play well with the smoothness of the yeast and bready malts. Finishes on a slightly bitter, fruity note and a sell concealed abv. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. A nice beer. Golden colour with small white creamy head. Aroma first malty with some sour notes, after a while flowers, hopps. Taste malty sweet and a good fresh hoppy bite in the finish.

bottle, hazy golden colour, nice creamy white, stable head fading slowly. Fresh fruity smell. Hoppy, bitter, malty, herbal. Nice beer but it has a bit sharp aftertaste, a bit too much alcohol. I could be very refreshing summer beer, however is the aftertaste fatal.

bought at the bierkoning in Amsterdam, hazy yellow/golden color. Medium head. Nice beer, but its not the best.
