yngwie (3311), Kristiansand, Norway May 6, 2008 Bottle at the Belgian Embassy in Oslo. This slightly pale golden beer with a little hazyness and a nice white head released earthy, dusty hop aromas, as well as a little fuityness and some aromas of pale malt. Really pleasant hoppy touch. The flavor is of course also hoppy, with earthy and dusty flavors, but not as hoppy as I expected when sniffing it. The alcohol is also well hidden considering it’s 7.5% ABV. It’s nice and silky in the mouch, with a pleasant level of carbonation, quite full-bodied. A true beauty from a country not usually brewing hoppy beers. (080410)
RedSox2004 (129), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Jul 5, 2008 Hazy golden blond with a nice head and good retention, but little lacing. Floral hops were most evident on the nose, also some banana and wheat. Spicy yeast flavors were up front with the floral hops and a bit of maltiness to balance it all out. Medium bodied, very smooth and rich mouthfeel, light carbonation. azlondon (456), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Dark orange, hint of brown. Lots of head. Cloudy, with sediments.
Aroma: Hoppy. Flowers. Lemons?
Taste: Fruity. Quite hoppy. Pretty bitter aftertaste.
Info: 250ml bottle, 1/4-2007, 166/500 SpudClampDawg (879), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jun 24, 2008 11.2oz bottle: A huge, spritzy head rises up and out of the glass as I pour gently down the side. The head eventually subsides, melting into mounds of foamy cream above the pale yellow body. The nose is enticing with a honey laden malt structure, balanced by grassy noble hops. The malts grow in complexity as the beer warms, revealing subtle notes of caramel, toffee, butterscotch. The hops add a nice pilsner like dimension, adding notes of grass and pine to the mix. Drinkable for a bigger beer. Very good. Shag (1748), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Jun 20, 2008 This poured a dark golden color with a rather large head. The aroma is spicy and also contains some lemons, apricots, and floral notes as well. The flavor is somewhat sweet with a bit of alcohol noticeable. The flavor contains some lemons, honey, and spices present. The finish is slightly bitter and the mouthfeel is quite carbonated. Overall a well balanced nice beer.
