Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 8, 2002 Re-Rate 10/08/02: Golden orange the color, the head resplendent, white, creamy, long lasting, the lace splendiferous as it clings to the glass. The sniff is sweet, citrus, light hints of bubble gum. The start is sweet, but the tartness, nay I say the sourness, hits before you can blink. Finish is grapefruity, cumbrously hopped, strikingly acidic, and the aftertaste is alcohol bitter. Maybe not meant for the weak of palate, but I love it, and it remains high on my master list at #39.
phishpond417 (1409), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 28, 2008 Sampled on draught: Pours a clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is pleasent, pineapple and floral notes. Noticeably yeasty, wheat lemon and clove flavors. Slight metallicy finish. ogivlado (2244), Zagreb, Croatia Aug 28, 2008 On tap at Café Belgique, Amsterdam.
Golden coloured, medium sized white head, dusty fruity nose. The taste is very malty, fruity, slight hoppy and metallic with notes of honey and spices. Rather bitter finish with strong metallic aftertaste. Ober (289), Best, Netherlands Aug 17, 2008 Bottle at Boshuis Venkraai. A little hazy, golden colored beer, with a thick white foamed head. The aroma is fruity, but most of al hop bitterness. The taste is hop bitter wit some candy sweetness. In the back some fruits like citrus. It has a dry bitter aftertaste. A good summer beer. Borresteijn (511), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 14, 2008 Bottle at De Geuzen. Golden colour, big white head. Aroma of hops, sweet fruity malts. Flavour is metallic, hoppy and malty sweet, a bit fruity and dry. Nice bitterness, too bad of the metallic flavours. HughConway (259), USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle.
