Commercial Description:

Formerly known as Poretti Bock 1877 Chiara.
http://www.birrificioporetti.it

Bottle @ Spiesy’s gaff. Smells like a stale beefy fart, then marmite, then metallic notes creep in. Alcohol makes itself felt first, then vanishes into a metallic strong lager. Not good.

Bullion gold colour, slight grey head. Sweat, alcoholic aroma, corn and adjuncts. Strong sweet grain flavour with lots of warm alcohol.

Bottled. Dark golden colour, clear body. Sweet aroma, malty (malt flour), sweet taste, syrupy texture, medium body. A strong italian-style lager, not a real bock.

It is not that bad; it has good hints (cereals, somewhat spicy) but it is a bit too thin. There are better bocks around.

Golden colour, poor head. Some malt in the aroma, but too much watery taste; correctly bitter.

Amber colour; thick malty palate and a dryish finish. Surprisingly big-bodied for a large brewery bock.
