Bright rich golden body with fine hazy particulates. Brilliant aroma of dank, moist hops and earthy juniper and citrus tones. Honey sweet malt underbelly and pungent notes of alcohol as well. Fresh spicy hop flavors with a furious bitter finish lightly buffered by sweet residual sugars. Light syrupy texture acts as a salve after the lacerative hoppy finish. Could have been a little drier, but otherwise this anniversary beer was exactly what I wanted it to be.

Bottle:   Dark straw, very dirty and hazy, bit of an orange hue, moderate off-white head, sparce lacing.   Heavenly sweet and citrus malt nose.   Slightly Tropical and also with a hint of spices, much like a Winter Ale.   This one is certainly malty, bitter, but also has a good citrus sweetness that balances it out rather well.   Moderate to full bodied, mouthfeel could stand to be a tad meatier.   Finishes clean, lingering hop bitterness and citrus sweetness.  Good stuff.   Nice to see a Californian IIPA that isn’t so far out of balance with their overly hopped beer.

Thick caramel color with virtually no head. Aroma of pine, hops. Flavor of caramel, grapefruit, and a solid hop-bitter finish. Potent, big beer with some floaties. Very nice.

23rd August 2008. Cloudy amber beer. When very cold direct from the fridge I found the taste like a harsh barleywine - salty and grapefruit bitter. As the beer warmed up a little the bitter grapefruit was replaced by bitter orange and some peach. The saltiness remained in the background though. Intriguing.

Bottle shared with my bro for my b-day. Aroma is lemon with a fair amount of piney hops. Pours golden amber with pale white head. Lots of light citrus flavors and tons of hops. Bitterness from the hops linger around until the next sip. Very refreshing double IPA.

orange, smooth small offwhite head. aroma of flowery hops, lots of malt, some bitter hops, some aged or old hops. very sweet malty base, lots and lots of hops some flowery some old some bitter, faint licorice, ends bitter hoppy. overall a very nice Double ipa, which now seems to have gotten some old beer notes too, sort of becoming a little barley wineish.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense beige head. Aroma of citrus, pine, caramel and fruits. Flavour of flowers, pine, caramel, sugar and fruits (plums). Medium to full bodied. Ends on a quite heavy dry bitterness. Quite delicious.

Bottle from Crown#6. Pours cloudy/murky color of apple cider. Nose is juicy fruit hops and bubble gum. Flavor is smooth and mellow with a definite hop bite and piercing alcohol punch. On the tangerine/citrus side, with a very overall smooth character. Not bad for a year old, but definitely mellowed out some. 3rd anny is up next:
