Aroma- Grapefruit citrus, and candy. Resinous. Biscuit is medium.
Appearance- Dark Orange to Amber in color. Perfect Rocky head that stuck around until the last drop. A little hazy (but they must have dry-hopped the bejesus out of this beer!).
Flavor- Huge, intense hop flavor. It’s citrus/piney and very resinous. Lots of sweetness. Big biscuit flavor. There is a spiciness, probably from the hops, not phenols. High Bitterness. Palate- Gigantic body, the long lasting head is indicative of the very chewey body. I swished a little in my mouth and it turned to foam right away. With all of those sugars and resinous hop oils, this is a very chewey IPA. Medium carbonation All of the hops give somewhat of a dry aftertaste.
Overall- Great flavor, and I expect a lot out of an IPA from port (Hop15 is one of my favorite beers ever). The huge body detracts from the overall experience, you shouldn’t have to chew through an IPA, even a DIPA. Ironically, the big body gives points to the appearance because of that long-lasting head. Even though the body and sweetness are big, that hop flavor definately matches it. It’s worth the money for sure.

Aroma was a thick heavy citrus. Pour was a cloudy bubbly medium orange with a one finger off white head. Taste was perfectly balanced. There was a strong piney and citrus hoppiness with a solid caramel malt backbone. Very little carbonation. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2009 Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out a moderate copper color with some slight white lacing remnants of a head. Notes of citrus hops and some sweetness lingering around with a touch of alcohol. Taste is rather boozy, some citrus hops and some sweet malty grain notes make an appearance, but the hops and the alcohol duel it out and the alcohol wins big time. dmac (1503), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 13, 2009 22 oz bomber from Capones. Pours a murky orange with an average foamy white head. Aroma has lots of fruitiness with caramel and toffee sweetness along with citrus hops. The flavor has some serious noticable alcohol throughout the entire flavor along with lots of grainy malts and harsh citrus rind. Interesting but tone down the alcohol and balance this one out a bit.
