Dark, hazy, burnt orange lager (when held up to light) with a small, creamy, off-white head. Sort of an espresso, deeply roasted aroma – much like a porter. Full-bodied with soft carbonation. Sweet, roasted flavor. Medium sweetness; moderate bitterness. Lengthy, nutty, bittersweet finish. Makes me think of an American porter. malrubius (999), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Brown with ring head and lace. Caramel earthy grassy aroma. Toasty Brown sugar with lingering sweetness. No finish. Slightly watery. No faint hint of smokiness like the classic Rauchenfelser Steinbier. Ok. alraicercsu (166), Ft.Collins, Colorado, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2009 Bottle at the “Drink for Charity” event at Rattle & Hum. Pours a hazy brown with a thin white head. Smells like a typical grainy lager, with a bit of honey on it, which I optimistically take as coming from the rocks…otherwise, what’s the point? Medium bodied, malty and sweet. Finishes with a light bitterness.
