Pours clear, dark mahogany with a medium tan head, some lacing. Smells of apple, caramel and citrus. Medium-thin body, crisp. Flavor similar to the aroma, with some nice, mild earthy hop notes, and a more citrus. Well balanced and drinkable.

Sampled on 5/22/2009. This dunkel pours a dark red, near eclipse red color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized tan/beige head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel, sweet, with some brown sugar. A medium bodied dunkel. The malts are caramel and a touch fruity. The hops are earthy and touch floral. Nice malt sweetness. Good carbonation. A nice dunkel with good drinkablility, there is just enough sweetness balanced by a touch of hops. The Mouthfeel is full. The finish is clean and smooth. The aftertaste is slightly sweet.

bottle: poured dark reddish brown. Light toffe malt smell. Flavor was smooth with toffee and carmel notes and slightly more sweet than bitter. Crisp lager finish. Not extremely complex. but yet a very nice brew to drink.

Thanks to todd for sharing this one. Pours a dark brown with a frothy tan head. The nose is earthy, malty, nice brady sweetness, caramel. Flavor is sweet and brady, mild hop bite and lager yeast character.

Thanks to Todd for this one! Light hazy brown pour, tan head and spotty lace. Malt driven aroma. Toffee, caramel, hazelnut and light yeast

bottle from southbay. not much like a lager. more like a brown ale. port does it again in making me like a style that i don’t usually like.
