Commercial Description:
It’s not often that a great summer swell coincides with a full moon, but when they collide, nature affords us a rare opportunity to paddle out long after everyone has called it a day. These moments are a solitary pursuit with empty lineups, but those who carve graceful lines under a full moon understand how things can be dark lonely and rewarding at the same time. So next time you paddle in from an overcrowded beach break, remember that nothing tastes better than a cold beer after a session. We suggest a glass of this smooth roasty black lager for contemplating empty lineups and waves that go on for days. Most likely, you’ll long for epic summer swells under moon lit sessions opening the doors to isolation and empty secret spots of an age trying to pass us by.

22oz Bottle. This shit is really good actually, pours out a black color with a nice tan head on it. Smell is full of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, some nutty flavors too. Taste is smooth and rich, very robust for a "lager" beer. Never had a schwarzbier near this good, probably never will either. Very easy to drink, light alcohol makes it all the more easy to consume. Great stuff.

Black in color with a thin layer of brown lacing. The nose shows off coffee, dark caramel and malt. The nose is pretty simple but comes off as almost deep. In the mouth it is medium-bodied with good balance and a finish of bitter coffee. A strange combination of "heavy" attributes as well as "light".

Malty smokey aroma. Favor of burnt coffee, malt and smoke. Some vegetable tastes come through. Not my favorite Port Brewing beer.

22 oz bomber from the Beer Yard had at the end of the night so my notes could have been a little bit better. Pours a deep dark brown with a large foamy light beige head. Aroma is roasty, with notes of coffee and chocolate but also a little bit of mustyness. Flavor is even better then the aroma and the mustyness is missing and simply the raostiness from the malts shine through with a toasty slightly choclate flavor. One nice beer but the name made me think I was getting something light but instead it’s a pleasant dark lager instead.

Bomber. I was very surprised by this being called a lager. It seems to me much more like a porter. Its dark and thick. The flavor has a very malt and roasty coffee flavor. Easy to drink but very thick and chewy which is different from other lagers that i’m familiar with.

On tap served by Tomme. Apperently this is Serpents Stout runoff mash. Great, easy drinking Dark Lager. Pours with a thick, light brown head covering a very dark brown body. Roasted malt aroma that is a little salty. Taste is coffee and a bit salty but still finishes quite sweet. Slightly fizzy mouthfeel, but still goes down great.
