Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

Black with a medium sized chocolate head. Aroma of burnt wood, black chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Flavor is rich and thick. Strong sweet roasty malts, coffee, chocolate, oily and smooth. Cloying mouthfeel, can taste and feel the alcohol entering my blood stream.

Motor oil pour with thin tan head. Nice tan lacing on the glass. Aroma screams imp stout. Chocolate, roasted malt, and light notes of vanillla. Thick mouthfeel that you almost have to chew this beer. Taste is chocolate, coffee and dark fruits. Alcohol definitely present. I prefer the Older version but this is a great beer. How is this a strong ale??

Exteme dark black pour with medium sized dark chocolaty tan head. Nose is huge on chcolate and caramel malts, with a big roasted note carrying from beginning to end. Some descent dark fruits mixed with very minimal hints of cherry. Very smooth going down a bit sweet and potent on the alcohol but it is a real treat.

Very very dark brown to black with a healthy chocolate head thinning to smooth even film. If this isn’t a stout, then I just don’t know what a stout is! Big chocolatey roasty licorice nose smells a lot like Expedition. Perhaps a bit more of anise and chocolate. Less roast. Thicker; smooth, small even bubbles. Big aggressive flavor. Bigger roast. Bigger malt sweetness. Sticky aggressive piney hops. Anise is huge. This is a nasty big beer with long lingering roast. Quite a lovely big beer, in my opinon

22oz. bomber. Pours a thick, dark black with a thin, dark tan head that dissipates quickly. Heavy aromas of chocolate, caramel, roasted malts and sweet fruit with a slight hint of spice. Flavor is of chocolate, sweet fruit, caramel, and spice with a bitter finish. Very good balance of bitter and sweet with this brew. Mouthfeel is smooth and thick, with an almost glossy feel. A great brew to enjoy!

Bottle. Dark pour with a very small brown head. Aroma is of coffee and roasted malts. Very woody aroma. Chocolate caramel through out, with some raisons in the background.Very roasty and flavorful. Nice alcohol burn at the end, but it is covered very well at first taste. This beer is very impressive all around. Almost perfect!!!

Having been blown away by the Older Viscosity just a few hours prior, I thought there was certainly no way this brew could live up to its bourbon barrel aged brother. Boy, was I mistaken. The brew pours a deep, dark, chocolaty mahogany brown. A minimal, swirly film coats the top, with a thin bubbly edge leaving behind minimal spots of sudsy lacing. The aroma is intensely rich and roasty. Dark chocolate, nougat, dark cherries, and figs all play huge roles. Moderate earthy hops are present, though the roast tends to drown them out a bit. I swear I pick up some bourbon in this version, though its probably just the alcoholic fumes blending with the caramel and nougat. The flavor is incredibly rich and chewy, with chocolate, caramel, nougat, and oak fighting one another for top billing. The mouthfeel is thick and viscous, considerably more substantial than the Older version. Finishes incredibly long, roasty, and warm. Awesome brew. Just as good as the Older, though very different. I’ll be buying more of this for sure.
