Pours a deep black with a small bubbly/creamy lightly lacing deep tan head. Aroma of sweet toasted/lightly roasted malts, caramel, light alcohol, some almonds and bar cherries. Flavors of caramel, milk chocolate, mixed nuts, some vanilla and woody notes. Nicely done, looking forward to trying the Older. Nice creamy palate. kyzr (1123), Belgrade, Montana, USA

I love this beer because I imagine many people hate it. Port refuses to identify the style, so get ready for an American Imperial Strong Storter. Heavy roast, coffee grounds with cocoa powder, light chile, and evident booze. And if you read the label and absorb the mechanical mood, you really will start tasting motor oil and metal shavings. bp (455), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2007 Bottle: pours jet black with no head other than a very thin ring around the glass, aroma reminds me of Imperial Stouts that I have had - that strong roasted aroma and some hints of coffee and chocolate, taste is burnt, bitter dark chocolate. This is really good. I’m not sure I’d classify this as an American Strong...it’s more of an Imperial Stout to me and a damn good one at that. elektronikfagteknikerlærling (892), kbh, Denmark

Slight hint of ruby color. Smells sweet and burnt - an intriguing and unique combination. Slid smoothly around my mouth and down my throat ... very strong burnt chocolate and alcohol flavor that is quite pleasant. It’s a brew to sip slowly and enjoy with friends. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Opaque black, with a red hue when playing with the light at angles on the glass. Mocha head with cobblestone lacing. Roasted barley on the nose. Flavor is complex, with plenty of fuel with a citrus tang and a spicy hop bite, coffee, and fresh grain. Sweet. Good carbonation. A recommended brew.
