Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

The description is correct, this is a LUSCIOUS DARK ALE. The aroma was a brilliant blend of hops and sweet malty flavors. The taste took all the flavors in the aroma and added a touch of bourbon and oak to make it absolutely a must have for any fan of well aged beer.

Bomber, thanks to aspidites. Pours a murky blackish brown with a thick tan head. A touch of brown sugar on the nose. Medium body. Lightly sweet taste loaded with malt and toast. Maybe a bit of fruit. Pine and alcohol finish.

22. Thanks, Aspidites! Pours deep grainy opaque black with a thick tan moussy head. Nose seems almost vacant at first, and really is fairly slight, but has some things to recommend it--a little bit of roast and toast. Super bold attack: big body, lots of flavors, decent carb. Roast and chocolate and sharp notes of grain husk and biscuit. Lovely piney hop notes on the finish. Beautifully done.

I think if you taste this you’ll agree it shares more in common with an Imperial Stout than anything else, the brewers qualms aside. Deliciously dark, tastes of blueberries. Shares some of the flavor of North Coast’s Rasputin Stout.

22oz bottle. Poured a dark black color with a smaller sized tan head. Aromas of caramel, cherries, raisins, prunes, roast, and chocolate. Tastes of dark fruits, roast, bitter chocolate, vanilla, wood and caramel. Light to medium alcohol burn in the finish.
