Good carbonation (it’s hard to see through the tar), little bit of lacing. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, and cherries. The taste is also full of dark chocolate and coffee but is nicely balanced by bitter hops. Good amount of alcohol, thick mouthfeel. Very good. angrypirate06 (706), Texas, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Pours a deep black with a small tight and long lasting head. Aroma is nutty with some molasses and some woodiness. The flavor is oaky and roasty with some espresso and a bit of chocolate, there is some plum and dark fruit, some alcohol shines through and makes this a very warming kind of a beer. Absolutely delicious. This stuff is very thick, big surprise! leaparsons (4691), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
