Bottle shared with Blankboy, Hogtown Harry, Jerc, Mds, and Mabel, Harry’s bottle. Nice roast aroma. Pitch black, small tan head. Great taste - rich, full flavoured sweetness, lots of roast, nutty, some hops. I kept repeating rich and roasty. Great stuff.

On tap: Aromas of grape, raisin, chocolate, and a hint of pineapple. Dark brown with orange hilights and a small tan head. Flavor starts very fruity with lots of grape and raisin up front. Light roasted coffee in the background. Lots of chocolate in the finish with a light grapefruit hoppiness and some faint sour notes..

Bottle: Nearly black in color, very thin light brown head, dies instantly, sparce lacing.   This looks like a damned aged Imperial Stout.   Rich roasted malt nose, chocolate, coffee, and subtle hints of vanilla and bourbon.   Sweet roasted malt start, fairly fruity, with a background of subtle notes of oak and bourbon.   Slight accents of vanilla as well.   While it looks very dark, much like an Imperial Stout, its not all that close to being a stout.   Noticing some aspects of citrus peel and soft hop bitterness.   This one is somewhat surprising, looks like a stout but tastes like a malted American Strong Ale.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Smooth rich malt base, picks up some dark pitted fruit skin on the finish.   I can totally dig this.   Thanks to bmartin08 for the bottle!

Appearance: Pours a black, brown-edged body with a khaki-colored head. Smell: Rich, roasty aroma, with hints of coffee, chocolate, and anise. Deep within the scent are some faint notes of cherries. Taste: The semi-sweet taste is an engaging mixture of black licorice, molasses, and cold coffee that would evoke thoughts of an imperial-strength root beer if it weren’t for the ever-increasing roasted bitterness and hints of alcohol. Also, there’s those far-off cherries carrying over from the aroma. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderately carbonated, with some alcohol warmth showing throughout. Drinkability: While I would’ve preferred a lessened presence from the dark roasted grains, it was still pretty good!

Bomber per cquiroga. The beer pours to a dark black/brown body with no head and little else. The aroma is strongly weighted to the dark fruit category. Ripe dark plums, dark raisins, bing cherries, some piney resin. Notes of dark chocolate. The flavor is intense and kind of DFH WWS-ish. Dark woodsy sherry, rich chocolates, sweet earthy plums that leave the flavor uniquely fruity. Notes of roasty charcoal chocolate. The palate is rich, creamy, vinous, and moderately full-bodied. A light carbonation is present even with no head. A nice brew but has some lacking points.

From bottle courtesy of Naka. Sweet and chocolately, smoky and rich with a bit of broth - smells like a stout or smoky porter. Light bitter hoppiness. Dark, dark brown-black clear, with a thin lacing light-tan head. Heavy body, almost oily, with a medium carbonation. Starts with sweet malty coffee taste, brown sugar, smoke and molasses. Medium alcohol warming with decent acidity. Dry nutty bitter finish and after with some coffee-chocolatey finish. Nice ale, warming.

Draught @ Papago. Didn’t get a dominant aroma from this one. Some medium roasty and sweet fruit. Dark in pub so body was dark with good head that settled to a thin lid on top body thoughout beer. Full bodied flavor with a syurpy fruit and roasted nut present. Smooth on the palate with roasted sweet aftertaste.

This smells and looks like a stout. It’s very heavy, almost like car oil. Thick and hoppy, it’s a winner. A great grainy bite. Excellent stuff.
