Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

From a bottle at SB&WF. Black with a beige brown head. Dark chocolate aroma with fudge and some coffee. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation. Well balanced with a not too overpowering sweetness and a dry finish.

22 oz bottle, thanks to miketd! Thank you Mike! Pours opaque black with nearly no head. Old viscosity is right as it seems rather thick. Aroma of toffee, chocolate and a tad of the bourbon barrel aging showing through. Very smooth and complex with slight smokiness, coffee and a very subtle hoppiness. Very nice.

Pours a really dark brown to black (probably just black) color, some off-white head, good retention, weak lacing. The aroma was bubblegum, dark fruits, roasted malts, coffee. The flavor followed the aroma, yet the hops were suprisingly present, firm showing, only light notes of wooden barrels, not so much the bourbon. Mouthfeel was full, not sticky, though, lots o’ malt, lots ’o hop.

(On cask at the PP Real Ale Fest 2006) Pours with a dark red-brown body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount fo lacing. It’s sweet and malty with nice fruity notes and some nice underlying hop notes. Full bodied, smooth and a touch warming.

Pours dark like a porter. It’s a bit hot with the alcohol, but this is fairly rich, a little chocolate, rum raisins. Nice body, but this would probably age nicely.

Bottle: Poured a black color ale with a off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bitter roasted malt with some citrus hops is intriguing. Taste is dominated by some medium roasted malt mix with some bitter hops as well as some oak and maybe light bourbon and vanilla notes. Very interesting and complex beer with a full body and no alcohol was discernable.

650 mL bottle. Dark brown to black with short lived light brown head. Sweet aroma of licorice, chocolate, and alsohol. Full bodied palette, but not mush else going on. Taste initally malty sweet with hints of fruit transitioning to an intense but pleasant bitterness and finishing with a lingering chocolate and aclohol taste.
