Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

22 oz. bomber from Applejack in Denver. This tastes more like a stout (reminiscent of Bell’s Expedition) than an ale. It is wonderful! I concur with most of the descriptive adjectives below and won’t repeat them. The label is a hoot! Kind of pricey (8 bucks), but worth it.

I was very pleased to see Pizza Port enter the MA market, with that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of their delicious beers. This offering from Port Brewing pours a black clear body probably closer to very dark brown but looks black in this light leaving a thin tan head that disappears. The aroma is chocolate, earthy hops, floural, malted milk, this smells and has characterisitc of a milk/oatmeal stout but lets taste. Wow, so sweet upfront really boozey but under control. The alcohal hits the palate upfront then moves to a bitter chocolate sweetness that finishes hoppy and just a bit of a bite from hoppy bitterness and alcohal. Great job on this one stock up!

Midnight black color with no carbonation. Looks like oil. Smell of chocolate, rasberries, cherries, coffee, cake, oak, malt and hops. Taste of caramel, hops, malt, chocolate, nuts, alcohol, bitters, tart cherries, prunes, and hints of oak/wood. Great bitterness at the end. This is a great beer for my 300th rating! Thanks Brewblackhole!

OMG!!! What is this beer?..It is its own stout + fruit classification. I am fortunate enough to live close enough to solana beach to stop down and buy directly from the brewer... This is a beer drinkers beer...heed the label: not your dad’s wimpy 10 Weight!!!!!

Lovely pour, used motor oil black pour with a lovely chocolate colored head. Aroma of earth, dark malts, with some sweetness. Lots of hops just beneath the other flavors. What a blast of oily thick flavors from burned malts, sweetness, hops, followed by a long finish that is austere to dry at the tail end. There is an abundance of heavy dark rich just ripe stone fruits, wood, vegetal hops, and sherry/marsala. This is an imperial stout of world class. I am impressed and look forward to my next bottle.

22oz bottle. Pours black with a thin light brown head. Sweet malty aroma with roasty notes, vanilla and alcohol. Roasted malt flavor with vanilla, chocolate and bourbon with a coffee and hop finish. Holy crap is this good.

bottled: A nice black pour with a thin head. The aroma, chocolate with a hint of bourbon. Taste was burnt malt with bourbon accents and a slight bitterness finished with a slight alcoholic burn. Very pleasant over all. I will seek this one out again.

22 oz. of pure heaven. The label is hilarious and I like ’em dark! This triumph from Port Brewing makes a nice meal.
