Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

4-3-08 bottle shared at mini tasting
Pretty black pour with a tan head and lightly spotted lacing. Smell is roasted dark sugary malt and toffee. Flavor is nice and roasted and coffee filled. Bitter coffee hop finish. Not too heavy, a hint thinner than I expected but still nice. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Big. Dark. Thick and tasty. Pours deep cola brown - almost black - with a tiny tan head. Chocolate, smoked meats and molasses on the nose. Dark, roasty, smoky malts are huge in the flavor, but it maintains a detectable hop presence and a good balance between sweet and bitter. Also strong notes of coffee, brown sugar and cacao. Surprisingly drinkable for this thick of a brew.

Bottle pours oily black with a thick tan head. Has nice aromas of mostly coffee with some bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel is thick and heavy. Taste follows my nose and has heavy coffee flavors, chocolate, molasses, and dark roasted malts. Overall this is a very tasty brew. Thanks Eric for sending it and to Brian for sharing.

22 oz bottle Aroma of chocolate. Poured a deep dark brown with a smallish tan head. Man this stuff tastes really good. Luscious is a good a description as any. It’s just a comfortable ale that rolls over your palate like an old friend who drops by for an unexpected visit. Makes me want to try the Older.

Bottle that I picked up while at Stone Sour Fest. Pours a thick black color with quickly receding beige head. Aroma is chocolate, leather, tannic, smoke, quite a bit of alcohol, oats. Flavor is ash, smoke, dark cherries, dark chocolate, alcohol is evident. Nice thick mouth feel.
