Smells almost like cherries. Tastes of dark chocolate, wood, coffee, cherry/raspberry, with a mix of Bourbon or Scotch. This is a nice sipper, has a silky smooth body and a big warming finish.

Bomber. Medium black with chocolate brown head. Aroma of burnt chocolate, roastedness and very light coffee notes, overall is sweet. Taste is bold to say the least and is of bitter and sweet chocolate and has lots of malt depth.

[bottle] Nice sweet pumpernickel aroma with good vanilla oak. Opaque black and viscous with a tan ring that leaves dots on the glass. Very pleasant sweet vanilla and mocha malt with a good balance of dark malt bitterness and hazlenut notes. Medium body, medium carbonation, slightly warming, lingering dark malt bitter.

Pours a big 2 finger chocolate head. Body is thick and pitch black, pours more like port than a beer. Head retention and lacing are above average Aroma is of rich, sweet chocolate syrup. There is also smell of oak mixed with some alcohol. Not much hops are detected at all but there is some licorice or anise coming through as the beer warms up. First taste is of sweet chocolate malts. Very malty beer with abit of roasted coffee in there also. Hops are very low and alcohol isnt too overpowering for 10 percent. There is an aftertaste of fruit like raisin or dried prune similar to that of doppelbocks. Mouth feel is good. Body is nice and thick and carbonation is enough to balance it out nicely. Wish the head contributed more to body but it died halfway through the glass Over all it is good. For such a strong beer it wasnt too difficult to finish a bomber. Pretty good beer, slightly different version of a stout, prefer Older viscosity but this one is good too

A nose of vanilla, tobacco, alcohol and funk. Taste is of grass, metal, vanilla, coffee and oak. Finish is a bit "green", acidic and dry. A strange but very enjoyable experience.

Pours deep black with a minimal head. Aroma is of coffee with a sweet caramel and vanilla aspect and a hint of alcohol. The flavor is fairly sweet with little sourness and a bitter finish.

Bottled. Black, oily like "julmust" in colour. Nose of burnt coffee, fudge and vanilla. Tastes of coffee, pumpernickel. It hit me like a ton of bricks (not in a good way).

Black, almost oily liquid now sits in my glass. Three fingers of creamy coffee colored foam sit atop it. Beautiful. Excellent retention and some excellent lacing, also. Big maltiness scents mix with a slight touch of booziness. Mild chocolate covers dark fruits. Cherries and dark berries, mostly. Decent coffee nuttiness. Hints of vanilla caramels. Unfortunately, all of these scents are fairly minimal and you really have to search to find them. Very light nose. Big chocolate taste mixes with hints of coffee. Dark fruit sweetness. Light hints of vanilla and caramel, probably from the bourbon barrel aging. Big malts and toasted nuttiness. Some burnt brown sugar and molasses. Very slight licorice notes. Good full bodied brew. Sadly, not as big and full as I expected it to be. It’s close to oily, but not quite there, yet. Carbonation is a tiny bit lacking. Could be so much better with a few more tiny bubbles. Lack of creaminess really hurts this one. Despite my criticisms, I really like this one. I want to bathe in it. The taste is great. Almost lives up to it’s hype.
