2008 Bottle - Thanks to jake65! - Pours a dk brown with a large brown head...aroma is dark and delicious, whiskey oak, malt and dk fruit, charred oak...flavour is similarly bold, massive barrel presence, vanilla to boot, a bit salty on the end, but man it works...that was terrific!

Bottle at Nørrebro Bryghus. Pouring pitch black with a dense creamy dark brown head. Vinous aroma with notes of raisins, prunes, vanilla, malt and brown sugar. It has a great complex flavour of prunes, plumes, wood, malt, vanilla and lots of bourbon. Lovely!

Review entered to celebrate my 2100th US rating. Bottled at the brewery. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty iwth notes of roasted malt, bourbon, and bread. The falvor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, bourbon, and a bit of acicity from the wood, leading to a dry roasetd, bitter, and alcoholic finish. The alcohol tickles the tongue in the aftermath.

I am glad I got to try this beer. Thanks Deniz. It pours very black and dark with a nice dark head on it. The smell/nose is roast, coffee, chocolate, dark fruit. The mouthfeel is pretty bold. Medium almost heavy coating. This beer is damn good.

Sample portion. A rare treat that did not disappoint. Pours dark brown, opaque, with a healthy brown head. Flavor is dark chocolate, molasses, coffee, maybe some bourbon essence. Palate is really interesting, evolving from soft and thinner than expected, to rolling soft carbonation, to a thicker, lingering finish. Flavor is a really nice cocoa powder vanilla blend initially, which rides a wave of carbonation towards complex roastiness, bittersweet chocolate and molasses. Finishes downright full of flavor, full of layered chocolate-mocha and roasts. Excellent, I hope to have a whole bottle to myself soon.

Black with a medium deep beige head. Sweet aroma with heavy roasted malty notes, ripe fruits and caramel notes. Flavour had wood, vanilla, bourbon heavy roasted malt and hints off coffee and chokolate .fantastic balance though very sweet.

Bottle. Pitch black body with a thick creamy brown head. A beauty! Aroma is very complex with notes of raisins, molasses, vanilla, oak, powder sugar and chocolate. Flavour is even more complex. Oak, chocolate, dark dried fruit, vanilla, sweet malt and some alcohol. Creamy body. Fantastic brew.
