375ml Bottle @ Monk’s Cafe. Blackish pour with a light tan head. Aroma is a wonderful bourbon-oak-vanilla mix with some chocolate and barrell essence. Flavor has a really nice combination of oak and vanilla with bourbony-coffee, chocolate, and some darker fruit maybe? Really smooth and nice mouthfeel. I was surprised how much more I liked this beer over the regular Old Viscosity - I was thinking that this would need more time based on the heavy alcohol taste in the standard version but this is smooth and delicious. Another great PP/LA beer from Tomme!

Bottled, draft and bottled again. I love this beer. Pours a dark brown with a thin head. Aroma is chocolate malt, bourbon, and oak. A great flavor of dark fruit raisin, bourbon, woodiness, and sweet malt. The abv is well in balance. I would absolutely drink this every chance i got.

A Mes rate: Bottle thanks Brad, jesus mate, you ROCK.
Thick oily and viscous with an excellent tan head. It certainly has the right name. Aroma - full on bitter chocolate. Probably a little too much bourbon. Excellent liquorice, loads of caramel and dark fruit and some superb bitterness right at the top. Some pepper too but over all it’s all about a full selection of special, booze ridden chocolates. Flavour - stunning. Full on in every way. Hardcore alcohol, barrel, chocolate, burnt malt, treacle toffee, excellent spice and bitterness with tons of sugary sweetness from the alcohol. This is a MASSIVE beer. If you let it rest in your mouth, some amazing fruit and coconut appears. Huge bitter and alcoholic finish that lasts for a considerable time. In fact it coats the mouth until you lick it off. A behemoth of a beer. Completely over the top but for once I like it. Thanks again Brad!

Tashi’s house, 28/05/08. Bottle courtesy of Mes and Reakt. This starts from where the Old Viscosity is and then kicks on to even loftier heights. The appearance is utter blackness in a glass. The aroma adds a very strong bourbon note, cardamon, treacle and liquorice to the already complex nose. The flavour has an iron, sanguine note which is not so obvious in the Old. The beer coats the mouth perfectly and every mouthful leaves you wanting more. A very special beer indeed.

Sampled @ O’Brien’s San Diego. Mahogany with hints of crimson around the edges, this beer loses its head rapidly after an aggressive pour. Brown sugar, toffee, raisins/figs, bourbon, oak, and vanilla are evident in the nose. Flavor of roasted malt, molasses, and bourbon are forward. A little bit of chocolate in the finish is the only similarity to Old Viscosity (that and the label, of course). I need to be able to get this every day!!!

Murky dark brown. Lots of alcohol, raisin, rich malt, vanilla, wood, bourbon. Serious beer. Rich, smooth and sweet, with lots of vanilla. Light bourbon with a big alcohol finish.
