GABF 2009, day 1: Big whiskey nose. Darkly roasted. Wafty espresso. And a rather large alcohol bite. Nice level of hop bitterness, but the sweetness won in the end. Hints of coconut and vanilla could be found in the background.

Bottle thanks to Bman1113vr. Black pour with almost no head. Aroma is cinnamon, vanilla, bourbon, oak, brown sugar. Flavor is meaty, maple, light coffee, slightly boozy. Great syrupy mouthfeel!

Draft at 2009GABF. Pours a thin short lived head over a dark, brown/black (SR 38) clear body.....nose is loaded with, coffee, chocolate, coconut....taste is similar, with loads of coffee, chocolate, coconut, finishing with a medium hop bitterness....mouth feel is thick and rich, carbonation adds to the creaminess. An excellent example of what can be done with balanced big forces.

Bottled, shared by Menno. Pitch black color, short head. Aroma is heavy of roasted malt, coffee, chocolat, alcohol, liquor, some cask notes, bit vinous. Strong taste, big malted, bourbon, oak, hint of vanilla, slight alcoholic. Lovely brew, but it’s 2 much to drink for a starter :-)
