lb4lb (1271), Austin, Texas, USA May 3, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Beervirgin72. Thanks!
Pours somewhat hazy amber with a nice whitish head. Smell is really nice citrusy, fruity biting piny hops with some nice sweetness to it. Taste is awesomely hopped with refreshing and crisp citrusy hopping and just enough malt to balance, but the hops shine and keep this really drinkable and refreshing. Nice body and carbonation. This is one of my favorite IPAs.
gotohelunc (324), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bomber. Lightly hazy orange pour. Strong bitter hops aroma with pine and citrus. Insanely hoppy flavor burns the tongue a bit. Grassy, citrusy, tart. A very tasty beer for sure, but not a lot of balance. robbmotiwalla (50), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jul 8, 2008 pours a nice hazy hay color and looks like a wheat beer. damn its hoppy and piney. wonderful. a little sticky on the palate. full and well rounded. a must for any hophead malrubius (363), USA Jul 8, 2008 Split 22 ounce bottle in pint glass. Hazy golden orange with lasting head and lace. Fresh hop citrus and grassy aroma. Mild sweetness with pronounced peach apricot fruitiness and bracing bitter finish that lingers. Medium body and medium carbo. Very refreshing and assertive. Excellent. bluemeow76 (685), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA Jul 4, 2008 Sample at the pizza port in Carlsbad. Citrus and spruce aroma, nice citrusy flavor with well balanced hops. Great IPA. Dogbrick (2165), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 3, 2008 Sample at the Carlsbad brewpub. This brew is clear orange with a medium thin and fluffy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Citrusy hops aroma with some pine and malt. Moderately hoppy character with pine and orange peel notes, as well as some malt in the background. The finish is somewhat bitter and hoppy with a lingering grapefruity hops aftertaste. Solid all around.
