Cask at the Babington Arms (JDW), Derby. Amber with a low, dense, off-white head,leaving lots of lacing; aroma of pine resin; silky smooth in the mouth and full of resinous hops; short well-hopped bitter finish, leaving a pine resin aftertaste. In one word - piney - if that’s a word!

Dec 8, 2009 Updated: Dec 10, 2009The Baron, 06/12/09. Straw draped with lace. Tomato stem and Turkish Delight aroma. Soft and mandarin zesty; dry and sweet, plenty of custard cream biscuit for balance. Resinous greenery on the burp. Beautiful balance of US/UK (but mostly US) hops and malt, and a fresh hop treat I never dreamt would come to Hinckley. BARACK OBAMA.

Dec 6, 2009 Cask at Rayners Lane, W’Spoons. Nice golden coloured pour with a fluffy white head. Fresh American hoppy nose. Pleasantly hoppy, citrus fruit, slightly dry taste. Surprisingly complex. Incredibly drinkable. A good effort from Tomme Arthur.

Pine hop aroma. White head. Golden coloured and hoppy with a pine flavour. A little dryness and bitterness in a crisp malt finish.

Nov 19, 2009 Cask handpump, The Penny Black, JDW, Bicester, Oxon-18-11-09 Pours warm gold in colour with a white head, there is a hint of haze to this, barmaid really struggled pulling this one through it appeared very, very lively. Nice citrussy hoppy aroma. Taste has a pushy citrus (grapefruit) hoppiness about it with a nice layer of sweet malts to balance things out, brisk and breezy sort of beer, you’re sort of expecting it to be more hoppy and zappy than it is, but its actually a very drinkable sessionable hoppy beer., leading to a few hoppy burps. The festival is over but there are still a few festival beers on offer and this much like the others on offer this evening is just £1.39 with my a CAMRA 50p off token. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Nov 13, 2009 Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Pale gold with a thin head. Aromas are citrus and apricot with floral notes and grapefruit pith. Flavours are sweet citrus. Herbal and floral with some pine. Peppery on the finish. Fresh and fruity.

Nov 9, 2009 Cask in the Ealing JDW (Sir Michael Balcon). Dark gold with a lacy white head. Toast and grapefruit on the nose, more citrus on the palate with a good hoppy note, a firm body, a nice underlying bitterness, and a dry-bitter finish. A good strong golden ale.

Nov 9, 2009 JDW Rochester. Soft malt with a varied and slightly muddled hop top. Hops grab too much attention with no clarity. A lot of noise for little signal.

Nov 9, 2009 Cask in the new crown, southgate. Alround rating: Fairly big centenial hop like nose, Citrusy with the pale malt only just showing, a hop showcase. I had 2 1/2 pints of this so it must be good but i have to say i was expecting better.
