Commercial Description:
At 10.5% alcohol by volume, barley wine style ale is in a class all its own. Intense caramelized flavors create sweetness which is balanced by huge additions of Galena hops. Cascade aromatic hops are added at the end of the boil to compliment this strongest of ales.

22 oz. bottle. From trade. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep caramel color, with a thin, sticky head. Aromas are of roasted malts, some coffee bean, piney hops. Flavors are somewhat strong & pronounced. Coffee bean, roasted malts, alcohol bite mix the flavors up somewhat. Medium mouthfeel, slick and oily. Decent enough beer, but nothing I’d seek out again.

22-oz bottle received via trade with 5000. Pours dark reddish brown with a small, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, cookie), average hops (flowers, perfume), light yeast (dough) with notes of alcohol, dates, port, and apple. Full bodied, creamy to alcoholic texture, sticky texture, and a slightly bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

bottle, from trade with 5000. Good aroma, sweet. Brady, plum, raisin, wet leather. Muddled orangy brown color, little to no head or lace. Sweet flavor. Very sweet at times. Coffee undertones, has a bitter streak, but not dominant flavor. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel. bitter sweet finish. Kind of liked it,, though this one was a slow drunk beer. I dunno at times I was turned off by the aroma. So it’s a mixed feeling with this one.

Bottle from 5000. Pours a murkey brown color with an amber hue. Aroma of caramel, malt, and light brown sugar. Very malty and thick on the palate. Minimal carbonation. Light fruity flavors are dominated by the caramel malt. Semi sweet light hop finish with some alcohol.
