Pours a hazy golden straw color with a nice white head, minimal lacing. Aroma is light for an IPA...get some citrus and light pine. Taste is crisp and clean with strong pine and a very bitter taste. The hops could be better balanced, but I still enjoyed the brew. IndianaRed (1562), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2006 Bottle pours a very hazy orange/amber witha modest off white head. Spotty lacing. Aroma is bitter and flat. Flavor is again plenty of bitterness but not much hop flavor. Feel is a fairly heavy palate with a long lingering bitter trailer that puts me off a bit actually. A bit dissapointing for a PNWIPA.
Thanks to Pinkzambia for sharing this one that I somehow managed to avoid all this time. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA

Bitter hop aroma with a tad bit of hairspray. The flavor is bitter, but the bitterness seems to be bitter for the sake of bitter and missing some of the complexity of other favorite NW IPA’s. The aftertaste is grass and dandylions, not that tasty. It has a smooth feel and still invites you back for another drink. So so. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Pours cloudy with a short tan creamy head that stays well and laces the sides of the glass.. Aromas of light citrus over pale malts. Flavor is fruity with notes of grapefruit and slight pine but also some caramel sweetness below. Not overly flavorful for an IPA though. Palate is softly carbonated and somewhat creamy. Not bad but pretty average overall.. after4ever (2828), Brier, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 5/5 | 9/20 | Jul 30, 2006 Draft at The Upstage, PT. Pours the same lovely dark copper as the beauty shot; tends more to amber indoors. But how can that shot not make you thirsty? Assertive spicy hop nose. Fairly vacant attack and thin-tasting mid-palate; wobbles abruptly toward a moderately harsh bitterness in the finish. Unfortunately imbalanced. bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 30, 2006 Draught at Dos Okies BBQ in Port Townsend. Poured a hazy amber/orange a diminishing off white head. Citrus malty aroma. Body was medium with medium carbonation. Taste starts slightly sweet and finished hugely bitter. While this beer is good choice to hold it’s own against the smoke and fiery taste of barbecued brisket under a blanket of sauce, it’s not so good when served alone. It tastes sort of uneven: you really get smacked upside the head with the bitterness at the end. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
