Draft at Collins Pub. Pours nearly crystal clear dark rubied brown with a lovely dense and sudsy tan head. Big hoppy, earthy, wet-leaf-y nose, smells very visceral and promising. You’d never guess it was a brown at this point. Then the sugar takes over and gives you a blast of molasses and brown sugar. Body comes on creamy and medium, showing more earth and leaves, quickly buried under all the sugariness. Mid-palate finishes out with another domineering blast, this time iced tea. Lots of very crisply defined flavors really showcased powerfully here; unfortunately, they don’t really work together. Dial down the sugar and dial WAY down on the iced tea, though, and this is a winner. Sharply drying and acetic finish.
