The nose is lightly roasty with some sweet chocolate and faint coffee notes. A bit of bread and other fresh toasty malt notes. The flavor is a touch astringent, not as sweet as I was expecing but full bodied and rather full and explosive on the tongue. The finish is mellow and creamy with wisps of roast that trail the light hoppy bitterness that touches the back of your tongue. Drank this while fishing from a boat in the middle of a lake while it was very cold, rainy and windy. This added another layer of warmth. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Medium sized tan head. Sweet sugar glazed bread (donuts?) and coffee scented. Semi-rich texture, first taste is sweet coffee and dry stout-ish malts, second taste over the tongue is very rich toffee, bourbon, dry malts and robust bread crust and chocolate. Very good stuff, very balanced. A highlight from this brewery. BillKismet (1950), Seattle, Washington, USA

Aroma is mostly roasted toasty malt, light chocolate, and a little yeast. Flavor is a nice roasted toasty delight. Not over the top with chocolate but enough there to make it slightly sweet without overpowering. Nice full flavor that finishes with some faint bitter hops and a nice roasty aftertaste that lingers. Full bodied and smooth on the palate. A nice porter and a nice nightcap.. yespr (12392), Copenhagen O, Denmark
