Commercial Description:
An array of brown, roasted, and biscuit malts create this rich and malty ale. An extended two hour boil develops caramelized flavors as well as its dark color. A small addition of peat smoked barley adds a slight smoky flavor.

Dark, dark red/brown and solid head. Fresh ground coffee aroma. Sturdy roasted flavor isn’t very powerful like many other scotch styles and the smoky peat comes out in the finish with alder notes.

22 oz Bottle - Very nice ale for malt lovers out there. Nice looking, dark cloudy caramel brown witha minimal, dense tan head. Sweet, medium-heavy body dominated by sweet cookie malt characterized with heavy molassas and pear notes. Light sour finish with a little bit of a grapefruit kick. Mild, malty sweetness on the nose. Coffee is pungent albeit in small amounts, not overpowering. Some oak woodiness as well. I love a sweet malty drink and this one really does it well.

pours a semi-hazy dark copper with a thin beige head, and some lacing. smell is of caramel, roasted nuts, malt, and some pear. taste is somewhat oily, a little coffee, malt, brown sugar, the sweetness of caramel, and just a little cocoa, end is slightly bitter.

Amber-chestnut colour...quite cloudy. Caramelly, earthy aroma. Full body. Lots of malt - mainly earth, smoke, then a bit of caramel. Long, sweet, smokey malt finish.

Not awfully familiar with Scotch Ales, and thanks to Carter for this one, so I’m not sure of the official profile, but this was very nice. Reddish-amber color. Nose is buttery toffee mixed with caramel and light bourbon notes. Nice clean sweet-malt flavor that is medium bodied and ever-so-slightly smokey...which I really enjoyed. I waited for a while to have this cuz I didn’t know what to expect....now I wish I had more.

Hazy dark amber-brownish color. Massive butterscotch nose with cherries and oranges in the background. Big butterscotch slightly alcoholic mouth and a big butterscotch warming finish. Yum.
