The nose offers fragrances of toasted cashews and almonds, caramel and leather. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Sweet, nutty and a touch acidic. Lengthy, lightly sweet, mildly tangy finish.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 23, 2009 A decent scotch ale with toffee and smokey malt flavors. Tastes distinctly of banana to me for whatever reason. Overall a drinkable beer, but a little watery and not as rich or sweet as a lot of scotch ales. killjoy966 (219), Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 25, 2009 Smells sweet and caramel-y. A little bitter near the end balances quite well. I think there’s a bit of spice/pepper, but it’s not that strong. Pretty solid scotch ale, though I can’t say I’m an expert on the style. snakeoilpete (324), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours mostly clear reddish-brown with a nice off-white head. Smells roasty (malts/coffee) and vaguely fruity. Taste is much stronger, with peat, vanilla, and toffee adding to the roasty fruitiness. Smooth, creamy, and sticky- the nitro worked well with this. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 18, 2009 22 oz bottle, via 5000. Pours a clear reddish brown body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded completely. The nose is a bit light, just some grainy husky malt with some burnt caramel and light-roast coffee. The flavor is much the same, quite husky and grainy with toasted maltiness and light roast. Thins out a bit on the back end. Light bodied and watery in texture with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, I’m not so sure this makes the grade for a Scotch Ale, the lightness of everything seems to suggest that this is more of a Scottish Ale. Just kind of a meh beer. Not offensive, just kinda boring. anders37 (4636), Malmö, Sweden
