Black with dark ruby hints and a firm tan head. Big flavor concentration. Roast coffee, chocolate, stewed dark fruits. Toasty and roasty in the finish. Nice beer. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Jun 9, 2008 Appearance: Pours an opaque, very dark brown body with a wispy, off-white head.
Smell: Dry, dust-covered dark maltiness with hints of chocolate and roasted nuts.
Taste: Dark malts, lightly sweet, and a taste of chocolate fall out in favor of questionable tart, lactic sourness. The aroma was alright and the taste started out decent, but boy did it ever nosedive into the ground. Bummer.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Gah! And I thought I was spoiled... Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 31, 2008 A murky brown to black appearance. The aroma is chocolate, lemon scented soap, and coffee. Uh oh not looking good. The flavor is very sour with a huge does of lemons and chocolate as well. Overall this beer was really odd but not in a good way. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 27, 2008 A bit of a funky sour aroma. Thin cloudy brown pour with off white haeed and lace. It looked like a bw of sorts. Very bitter I could not drink it the very first beer I’ve ever spit back into my glass. Palate was fizzy and bad. Not much at all. This beer has one sick puppy it needed antibiotics bad. kp (8600), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | May 24, 2008 Bottle courtesy of 5000: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin ring of light tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate and roasted malts with a touch of burnt popcorn. Body starts momentarily sweet but quickly reveals an overwhelming sour acidity that thins the body and actual led to me spitting it out. I can’t tell you how the finish was because I didn’t swallow any. Very strange, because the aroma hid it so well. shp555 (1776), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Dark brown with a slight tan head. Good cocoa, vanilla oreo cookie aroma with some fresh hops. Medium body. taste is buttery infected ( diacetyl to the hard core ) with roasted, almost burnt malt flavor which made this taste a little sour. A good brew if not for the off flavor. 927
