Commercial Description:
Flavors of dark chocolate and roasted malts are complemented by generous quantities of Northwest hops to give this dry stout an assertive but balanced profile. A traditional yeast strain lends further complexity to this rich dark brew.

Bottled. Very deep ambery brown colour with huge creamy beige head. Aroma is chocoalte, coffee, roasted malts and very big nuttyness as well. Big caramel and toffee as well. Also some dry fruits and vanilla. Very bigtime complex aroma that changes with temperature. Flavoour tobacco, ashes, vanilla and chocolate + some coffee. and fudge. Also dark fruits and smoked wood.

This beer pours a mahogany to dark brown color with a nice visible tannish bubbly head and mediocre lacing. The aroma is very chocolatey with notes of brown sugar, heavy wood, possibly a bourbon cask, smoke and vanilla. This is easily the weirdest beer I’ve had in ages and trust me thats a welcome change. Mouthfeel is silky smooth with a very mild milky to milk chocolate mouthfeel and very little in the way of carbonation. Vanilla and brown sugar mouthfeel...thick and rich with an oak agedness to it. A minor hop bite kicks in just before the choco-monster attacks with his milk chocolatey stealth. Muy bueno..dry finish but not overwhelming. Little alcohol presence. MUST have more!

Bottle… This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, khaki head. Terrific retention. Rich aroma of pistachio and milk chocolate with diacetyl and vanilla undertones. Sweet, chocolaty flavor. Not complex, just rich and tasty. Medium to full-bodied with moderate carbonation. Sweet, chocolate and coffee finish. I haven’t checked my stats, but this has to be one of the very best dry stouts I’ve ever tasted! Underrated, in my book. Big props to Degarth for sharing this gem of a beer!

Bottle 1pt. 6fl.oz.
Clear dark brown color with a huge, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, light licorice, vanilla and tobacco notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy chocolate sweet and chocolate - coffee bean bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is smooth and oily, carbonation is soft. [20090621]

Bottle. Roasted coffee and chocolate aroma with a light brown head and deep black color. Dried fruit and a great roasted malty flavor with somewhat clean finish. It is a little sweet and syrupy. I wish the alcohol was a little higher but besides this minor drawback, this is in my opinion a fantastic stout.

Very nice stout, my second favorite beer at this brewery, malt, coffee, chocolate, all the flavors a stout should have, and a nice sweetness to it What a nice beer.

Had on tap at their tasting room. Excellent stout - creamy smooth - like a milk shake. Thick, creamy mocha colored head sits on top of a coal black pour. Some smoky notes mix in well with the coffee and chocolate flavors. Melts in your mouth - I could drink this all night. Exceptionally smooth. HIghly recommended.

Pours black, with a small off white head. Smels of big chocolate, some dark fruits, mild roast, anddark malts. Nice body, pretty big roasty chocolate really makes up most of the flavor characters. Nice and rich on the palate, with a slight bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Pretty full flavored most of the way throughout. I think this beer is slightly underrated, I enjoyed it.
