Commercial Description:
Our winter ale is made from a blend of pale and crystal malts, roasted barley and Belgian aromatic malts. Cooler fermentation and a longer aging time adds further complexity to this Old Ale style.

Bottle: Dark mahogany, light head. The nose is hoppy and spicy with some earthy malt, rye, spice and brown sugar. The flavor is malty, light caramel, sweet plum and grass. The finish is medium bodied. nice.

Bottle: Musty copper brown with a smaller head. Nose is mild of fruits and malty sweetness. Flavor is fruity with citrus and apple. A bit on the sweet side, but still good. Thanks Buckdich.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with Larry Pitonka (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy copperish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, caramel and a little floral. Tastes of grapefruit, fruity, light and light caramel.

Blind tasting. Light brown w/ good head. Big chunks in glass....Big grapefruit aroma and taste. More balanced than I expected from the aroma. Bitter hops at the end. Good thickness. Really enjoyed this one...funny that all 3 of us that rated it blind seemed to enjoy it, while most other ratings on here are pretty low.

Bottled. Blind tasting. Pours a cloudy copper with a full tan head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit. Medium body and carbonation. Taste starts lightly sweet with oranges, pine, grapefruit, and resin at the end. This is apparently an English Strong Ale that wanted to be an IPA.

Bottle--blind tasting, at that. Pours a clear medium copper, thick tan head. Huge sweet fruitily hoppy nose. Body’s a little higher than medium, but not much. Active carb. Straong caustic resin-y hop bite on the mid-palate and the finish. Big strong crisp hop flavors throughout, complex but still refreshing.

22 oz. Bottle:Murky pond water brown with no head. Aroma of ripe apples ready to be made into cider and alcohol. The taste is bitter cough medicine and apple cider without the sweetness. The aftertaste seems to have bitter cardboard mixed with raisins - not bad. I kind of liked this guy even though the average score is not that high. Thanks Indiana_Red for sharing the fruit of your trip the Mecca Northwest!

Bottle Poures a cloudy orange/amber witha very small head and no lacing to speak of. Aroma is light woody malts wioth only slight hop aroma. Flavor is fairly IPAish. PLenty of hop \bitterness and a moderate malt backbone. Lots of woody, earthy notes. Strong lingering bitterness. ABV is not too noticeable for the percentage.
