KM (137), Tromsø, Norway Mar 22, 2007 Tap. Very nice black body with some beautiful dark red colouring. Creamy head. Fantastic aroma with dark sweet chocolate. Excellent. Amazing flavour of dark sweet chocolate and mocha. Not only does it taste chocolate, it tastes like a very good chocolate. Wonderfully balanced flavour. It is amazing how well this heavy chocolate taste goes together with the rest of the beer. A lasting finish which keeps the best of the flavours intact and ends with a characteristic bitterness. Deliziosa, da bere senza fretta, parlando delle imprese di Pirro. evilempire (112), sheffield, South Yorkshire, England Mar 4, 2008 scored in Porter House Temple Bar. Delicious, smooth, highly chocolatey brew, slight roastiness comes through towards the end, several pints of this made for a good night Aarleks (400), Sydney, Australia Mar 31, 2006 Tap (Nitro), The Porterhouse, Dublin: Deep mahogany with the usual nitro head. Looks pretty good actually. BIG chocolate flavours. Amazing depth of chocolatiness with astonishing length. The nose is like a chocolatier’s workshop (with a roasty stout sitting in the corner). Underneath all this chocolate is a beautifully balanced, mild sweetness with a touch of roastiness and some pleasant liqueur-like alcohol notes. I wonder whether the chocolate would get too much after a few pints, though for a half it’s fine. Mes_and_Sim (4176), London, Greater London, England Apr 29, 2007 A Mes rate:
Nitrotap @ you’ll never guess where. Saw Man U beat Everton 4-2 while supping this. Sure my mood has influenced my rating slighty but this was excellent. Black, almost opaque with a solid off white creamy head. Coffee, malt and rich dark chocolate aroma. Flavour is similar to the nose and wonderfully tangy and rich. Certain I could not drink more than the half I had but I enjoyed every sip.
